Things that make me happy

Christmas music in July. I never thought I'd say it, but today, it's the truth.

This morning as I drove to work, all I wanted to listen to was Point of Grace's album A Christmas Story. I didn't know if I'd still have it stored away in my iPod; but to my good fortune, I did! Oh...what a fantastic surprise!

I love this CD for two reasons: ONE. During the holiday season, this was the CD my mom used to play in the car when she'd drive me to and from my music lessons twice a week. The drive was about 20-35 minutes long [one way] depending on traffic, so there was plenty of time to jam out to all of mom's favorites. TWO. This CD is a great way to celebrate the miracle of Christmas in a lively and spiritual way. And the fact that I can feel the Christmas spirit in July makes me happy :-) To me, the Christmas spirit equals gratitude, balance, and peace, among many other feelings. But today, those were the three I needed to focus on.

I am glad that music can stimulate tidings of great joy! (pun intended?

Today's challenge: listen to something that helps you feel happy and grateful. If you need to borrow my idea, click on this link and listen to "When Love Came Down."

  1. I love Christmas music!

So, I just barely printed off my pictures from our study abroad (I know, I'm slow) and I was remembering all of the good times we had. It made me happy. Remember "the most famous bed in the whole world"? Ya, it wasn't that cool, but Dennis thought it was. I swear I gained 15 pounds on that trip from gelato alone. ha ha. But it was so worth it.

Anyway, I'm wondering if you still have the scrapbook thing I made for our assignment. I don't have it, so I'm hoping you do. Can you bring it back with you when you come please? I remember thinking I was so clever when I did it, so I really want to go through it again. Thanks!
