A Word from the Elders

This morning I was pleased to see that I had an e-mail from my Aunt Adelle, a forwarded message from my dear cousin Elder Blake LeSuere! This picture is one of several he sent to the family. I had forgotten the excitement that comes when a letter (or e-mail) from a newly set-apart elder pops up in my inbox. My stomach was all in knots, eager to read what Blake had to say. Elder LeSuere's enthusiasm to share the gospel was evident in every part of his message. As for the logistics, he is gradually picking up Portuguese, and has not yet grown tired of rice and beans. But most importantly, my dear cousin is showing once again just what a great person he is. When we were young, and even as teenagers, Blake was always one of the more (how do I put this) focused people I knew. Being a tri-athlete, while also excelling in school never seemed to distract his desire to serve a mission. Since the time he was two and I was three, he has always been a good example of what it really means to center your life around the gospel. We miss you, Blakster! I cherish our times in the back playroom, sleep overs at grandma's with Brad, movie nights watching Robin Hood Men in Tights (plus the dreaded Ninja Turtles), family history nights and potlucks, etc. Best of luck Elder LeSuere!
