It is official. Both Allie and Trish are gone for the summer. The reality of it all finally hit this evening as I sat by myself in our quiet apartment, waiting for Allie to come home from the library or Trish to waltz in with a random story about her Romanian class. Alas, no such entry was made. I continued to sit on the couch, alone, with only my textbooks and Bryan the fish to keep me company. These girls, along with Bree, have been my saviors this past school year; they helped me adjust to college life away from home; they tutored me through all my dating drama; they listened to me sing cheesy EFY songs over and over again around the apartment, and never once asked me to stop (and I'm sure there were many times when they wanted to); they were there for my 2.5 hour symphony concerts and many ward activities; they helped me get over my random nervous breakdowns about statistics and chemistry and nutrition; and whenever I came home discouraged about school, work or relationships they taught me to focus on the positive aspects of life.

Ave. 232 will surely not be the same without their presence. These girls are amazing, and have left P-town to do remarkable things with their lives: Allie performing research and humanitarian work in Equador and Trish helping orphans in Romania. My roommates are the biggest reason why my first year at BYU has been so incredible.

Back in August, the four of us had no idea what we were were getting ourselves into. But I'm happy with the way things have unfolded. I will miss Allie's donkey kicks and Trisha's taco soup nights, but luckily Bree is still here, and so is our new roommate, Katie. This summer is going to be great, filled with lots of adventure and growth! And when we are all back together in the fall, life will continue to progress. Keep it real with the DSWs!
