since this beautiful girl got married?
When I saw her and Chad immerse from the temple doors, I felt sincere joy for my friend. Aubrey met Chad while I was in Jerusalem, and he had moved to Houston immediately after April graduation--making their relationship long distance--so I never observed their courtship firsthand. But she kept me updated, so it was really quite the momentous occasion to see the happy couple walk out of the temple, hand in hand, just recently sealed.
Side note: while waiting outside the temple I was able to catch up with childhood friends...

It was wonderful to see them.

Aubrey and I were nearly inseparable growing up. From swim team to violin lessons to beehives to writing missionaries we did everything together. Although we went to different high schools, we always stayed in touch and maintained a strong bond. We were even blessed to room together for one whole semester at BYU. She was a first-year law student and I was wrapping up my undergrad.
One of the reasons I love Aubrey so dearly is the fact that I never have to wonder what she's really thinking. She's been a sound board of reason during some of my very difficult decisions, for she helps me see things as they really are. Aubrey is also one of the most driven and grounded women I know. Not many girls have accomplished what she has while also maintaining such a down-to-earth attitude. I can't help but want to be better whenever I'm around her.
I will miss my friend as she moves on with life's next adventure of marriage and family, but I won't forget the salient truths she taught me. I love you, Aubs!
