Have you ever seen "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium"? It was released in 2007 and represents every childhood fantasy of walking into a toy store where all the toys come to life. It's a story of wonderment and joy.....
Oops....sorry, I got stuck in advertising mode for a second. Anyway, in the movie, Mr. Magorium (played by Dustin Hoffman), the toy store owner makes the following comment to his stressed out store clerk, Molly Mahoney (played by Natalie Portman):
"I suggest you stun the world."

Hmm... imagine what it might be like if we all just "stunned the world." Meaning, we all just followed are dreams and did what made us happy, because in being happy we'd make others happy too.
But
The solution isn't that simple, right? We've got school and work and church callings and relationships and all the other obligations and activities we want to pursue. Perhaps some of us have yet to find our true passion/calling in life. Or maybe we're too concerned about whether or not what we are doing is even making a difference. Whatever the set back may be, I suggest you trust the One who gave you your capabilities, believe in yourself and "stun the world."
Be yourself, and others will most likely be uplifted. It is scary, and totally cliche, but true nonetheless.
Maybe I'm just crazy, but I really like Mr. Magorium's advice because lately I feel a little like his shop keeper, Molly Mohoney. I'm stressed about certain things, and I'm forgetting to see the bigger picture, or even the small simple joys of life. But maybe if I just take a moment to relax and listen, I'll be able to find opportunities and possibilities I never could have predicted.
Maybe, just maybe.
Happy Saturday!
