For all those who remember, a few weeks ago a lot of people were posting 25 interesting things about themselves on Facebook, and then tagging 25 friends who might enjoy reading about them. I made an attempt at this, and I say attempt because I didn't realize how difficult it would be for me to actually come up with 25 interesting facts. I got to number 8 and was ready to quit. "I like the color green..(wait, that's too cliche...ummm)." After investing what could be considered "too much time," I finally finished. So, here's my 25:
1. I was 4'8'' from 6th to 9th grade when I finally had my last growth spurt. I guess it wasn't that big because I'm still always straining my neck to look at people. My current height happens to be the perfect size for anyone in need of an arm, elbow or head rest. hmmm....not sure how I feel about that.
2. I love getting and giving foot rubs! I don't understand how anyone can despise feet. They need TLC too.
3. I have never broken a bone nor do I plan to do so. I have never been one to willingly participate in extreme sports. (Yes, I'm assuming that extreme spots inevitably result in broken limbs.)
4. I started playing the violin in 4th grade, and for some reason I still find myself lugging an extra 7 lbs. around campus every Monday and Wednesday afternoon.
5. I'm a sucker for winks! ;-) I'm not sure why. I just think they're cute! Seriously, if a guy winks at me...I'm hooked!
6. One of my very favorite desserts is vanilla ice cream with m&ms. That's all.
7. I aspire to run the St. George marathon. While most people think it's insane to run 26.2 miles, I'm strangely attracted to the exhaustion and physical strains. I just think it would be exhillerating to cross a finish line that is 4 hours away from where you started. (Except considering my slow running record, the finish line will be more like 10 hours away.)
8. Speaking of runners, I'm jealous of you all! I want your bod.
9. I used to love swimming: swim team, water volleyball, diving. Now, the only water activities I can tolerate are hot tubbing and maybe tubing at the lake; however, I have learned to appreciate some wakeboarding. (Still working on that though).
10. My favorite foods of all time include french toast and apples. Not together, just in general.
11. When it comes to food, texture is EVERYTHING. For example, I can't eat English muffins because the course bun gives me goosebumps. Overall, if it's crunchy when it should be creamy; if it's doughy when it should be solid; if it's stale when it should be moist then the food cannot be properly enjoyed. But, there are some exceptions, like slightly burnt chocolate chip cookies or yogurt with granola. mmm!
12. Another note on food: nuts do not belong in it! They must be eaten separately or not at all.
13. I didn't like Mexican food until my freshman year of college. Thank you, Filibertos!
14. Ok, enough about food. My favorite genre of music is classical. I always get nervous when someone inquires about my iTunes library. I worry they won't appreciate my inner nerd when I tell them I jam to the rhythm of Thomas Tallis, ponder to the minor progressions of Josh Groban and clean to the themes John Williams.
15.My biggest pet peeve is snoring. One would assume I'de be tolerant because I have three brothers and one father, all who snore. But honestly, the incessant, loud noise has got to stop. Note to future hubby: Beware!
16. I love to ride horses! Except up until 5 years ago I was terrified of them. My dad made me take lessons until I was confident enough to run a horse at full speed and jump a 3 foot pole. So scary!
17. Someday I want to visit Macchu Piccu, Greece, New Zealand and Paris.
18. Although I love to play sports with friends, I have yet to be blessed with physical intelligence. During freshman year I tried out for the summer JV basketball team and was the only girl cut. The coaches condolence, "Basketball just isn't your thing...you should try something different." Tough love, right?
19. I am always up for a game of sand volleyball! I'm not any good, but I LOVE to play!
20. I am the second oldest of 7 kids, the 7th oldest of 30 grandkids and if it were all my choice, I think i would have four kids.
21. I love college! People talk all the time about returning to the "glory days" of sweet 16s and Winter Formals, but I feel the best parts of life are just beginning. I wasn't very good at high school: I never had a boyfriend, I couldn't keep up with fashion, and I was an orch-dork. But hopefully I turned out OK.
22. My dream job would consist of being in a string quartet. I would travel the world and make lots of money!
23. I'm scared to death of falling, like on those theme park rides that send you way up in the sky and then drop you to what seems like an inevitable death. The last time I went on a high rise was 4 years ago, and I sang primary songs the whole way up. Unfortunately, singing "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" over and over again was an inadequate tactic for calming all feelings of terror.
24. I always forget my keys. Always.
25. I think out loud. Some might consider this talking to myself, but it's simply how I process thoughts and feelings. Don't be surprised if you hear me mumbling with a Russian, Spanish or British accent. Strange? More like creative, genius or awesome!
BONUS: Whenever I'm not talking, I'm singing. Whoever said life isn't a musical?
