My Last Day

It's my last day of work and the only emotion I really feel like expressing is gratitude. Thanks for this chance, this opportunity to grow and become a stronger person. Thanks for teaching me about the real world and how to survive in it.

I don't think I'll feel any different until Monday rolls around when I won't be making that 70-minute commute to Farmington. Instead, I'll try to sleep in and then start organzing boxes and packing for the Big Move.

The only way I know to describe the past year is to say that it was a good, hard year. So many days and months had to be endured and "stuck out," but I endured them. So many tough, life-changing decisions had to be faced, and I faced them. It drained me to do so, but I did it. With a lot of divine and immediate help I did all those things.

I also learned a few good lessons along the way. A few of those include the following:
  • Works without faith is drudgery.
  • When you feel you've done all you can and you're still hitting a wall, be meek.
  • Always be kind.
  • View hard times through an eternal lens.
  • Entitlement is a nasty, stinking habit.
  • Most of the time, people are doing the best they know how to do.
  • A lot of the struggles we face are a result of our own immaturity or lack of understanding.

These are just some immediate thoughts. Nothing too specific, just feelings, really.
