6:30 a.m.--hit snooze.
7:00 a.m.--hit snooze again.
7:30 a.m.--get up and get ready.
8:20 a.m.--scarf down breakfast.
8:30 a.m.--turn off the lights, shut the doors and lock up the house.
9:00 a.m.--get to work.
12:00 a.m.--win chocolate covered cherries at office White Elephant party.
1:00 p.m.--stare at data for four hours straight.
5:00 p.m.--leave work for Barnes and Noble.
5:45 p.m.--peruse BN for half an hour. Debate purchasing a few items then leave empty handed.
6:15 p.m.--wait at Gateway for Visiting Teachee hurrah.
7:30 p.m.--get the call that my ladies are running late. NBD.
8:15 p.m.--pick a restaurant and eat dinner.
8:40 p.m.-- my life is changed by grilled shrimp and guacamole tostadas.
9:30 p.m.--say hasta la vista to the ladies and head back to the car.
9:45 p.m.--check parking garage for crazies. coast is clear.
10:30 p.m.--drive in to the driveway.
10:30:30 p.m.--notice that all the lights are on in my house.
10:30:35 p.m.--what the...?!
10:31 p.m.--recall having turned off all the lights before leaving for work.
10:32 p.m.--call mom in total panic trying hard to control emotions. epic fail.
10:40 p.m.--wait in car while neighbors arrive with bat in hand to come check out the house for strangers.
10:55 p.m.--house is cleared. Doors are re-shut and lights are turned out. neighbors offer words of comfort.
11:00 p.m.--wipe away last remaining tears, change into pajamas and sit in bed trying not to psych myself out. again, epic fail.
11:03 p.m.--call C for extra comfort and solace. success.
12:05 a.m.--go to sleep with bedroom door shut and locked.

ReplyDeleteKatie. I would have cried and never stopped. I would've been sleeping at the neighbors and keeping the baseball bat in my hand at all times. You amaze me. And I love that you checked the parking garage for crazies.
