First day of class

My book for Near Eastern Studies, taught by Dr. Chadwick

FACT: I'm an ignorant American. I've never really understood the conflict in Israel, nor have I appreciated the religious symbolism of the apparent holy city, Jerusalem.

After sitting in four hours of intense lecture and QA sessions*, I have a feeling my ignorance will dwindle greatly this sesmeter--at least that is my humble hope.

Old Testament and Near Eastern studies were on the agenda today. Each class lasted approximately two hours and gave an in-depth intoduction to what we'll be learning this semester. Already my mind is sparked with questions about the siginficance of this land (Israel) and its history.  See the book in the picture? It's filled with geographical and historical information about Jerusalem. I don't really understand the readings yet, but give me some time. I'm sure it will slowly mold together into a beautiful masterpiece of intellect. Again...another humble hope :-)

My roommates and I finished off the day with naps, dinner, and a lovely workout session in the JC gym. Yay for healthy living!

*By the way, my professors are brilliant! I couldn't help but hang off their every word.

Me and my roommates on the first day of class. They are lov-er-ly.

Tomorrow=the Sabbath. I CANNOT WAIT.
