Three Cups of Sugar

Tonight was interesting. As I sat on my couch, preparing to wind down for the night, I turned on some old EFY music. (Yes, I'm a proud EFY nerd. I loved it. Amazing things happen at EFY. It's true). Listening to the songs that used to pick me up during the hard times in high school brought back, tonight, some good memories. For example, my little sisters.

Look...aren't they so stinkin' cute?

Aside from the fact that each one of these girls has a completely different personality from the others, they all have one thing in common: they're MY little sisters. Except now they're all teenagers and in junior high. How unbelievable is that? Now they like boys, have girl drama, and want advice about eye shadow and tampons.

Seeing my sisters grow up has helped me gain an appreciation for all those times when they would wake me up at 6 in the morning seeking my advice on what not to wear for the day; when they would come in at night and beg me to straighten their hair for picture day; when they would sit in the living room and listen to me practice my instruments; when they would draw me pictures and leave random notes on my door because I was stressed out; when they would come crying to me because their older brothers were picking on them; or when they would just want to sit and cuddle while watching a movie.

I'm sad that I don't get to be around everyday to hear all the little details of their lives, but I suppose semesters never really last as long as they seem. So I'll see them soon.

Until then, I'll just continue to listen to cheesy [awesome] EFY music, stare at family pictures, and let the wave of nostalgia relax the nerves of college life.
