Back from the Grave

I know. It has been a long time. But I couldn't help it. School consumed my life. OK. Let's be honest, school always consumes my life, but I was barely able to keep my head above water the past month. Fortunately, the waves of chaos are rippling down and I'm finding consistency in my schedule. Some highlights for the month of September include but are not limited to:

1. New Job-- as mentioned earlier on my blog, I work in the Women's Services and Resources office as a media coordinator. It's a self-proclaimed title, but it works. My new job is awesome, by the way. I work with great girls, all of who are talented in areas of nutrition, management and counseling. Working in the Women's office has helped me gain an even deeper appreciation for women and the issues many struggle with such as eating disorders, self-esteem issues and the like. Some recent projects include a commercial for "Food for Thought," a press release (hopefully it gets published) and a newsletter (in the making).

2. Classes--Finally, I'm all done with generals. I'm officially enrolled in only advertising and editing classes. I'll be honest, I do miss the occasional history course, but overall I'm happy to be in my media classes and the editing courses are keeping me on my toes. Who thought grammar and usage could be so exciting????

3. Church--my new calling is fantastic. Harrah for the publicity council. I work with great people and best of all...the directory is all done! 153 names, numbers, e-mails and pictures--plus--the bonus question asking about everyone's major: all in just 13 days. So glad that project is over.

4. Social--With a 70% turnover in the ward comes a lot of new faces. I've met some great people so far and have continued to preserve friendships from last year. Change is intimidating, but then I'm reminded of the fact that life just keeps getting better. What's even better is that good friends from Mesa are keeping in touch. Love it!

5. Family--Mom is coming to visit this weekend! We get to go hiking and shopping and out to eat. I am sooooo excited!

That's all I'm willing to post for now. I've been awake for nearly 20 hours, and I'm ready to get some rest. Stay tuned. More updates yet to come.
